The Vineyard
Both having a family background in agriculture and viticulture, Stephen and Anette purchased the property at Light Pass, Barossa Valley in 1992.
With the aim to produce high quality grapes to make premium wines, vines have been planted with regard to optimum soil and climatic conditions.
Stephanette provides unique conditions for different varieties of grapes. The red varieties Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat and the white variety Albarino are grown on the property.
Red Brown Earth over Red Clay and Limestone allows good Control over the vigorous Shiraz vines, while deep alluvial soils nurture the white variety Albarino.
In 2000 Shiraz grapes were specially selected to produce the first small batch of wine. Since then wine production has increased with the focus on interesting wines that reflect the very best of Barossa wine.
